Central venous catheter (CVC) placement is an interventional procedure that inserts a dual- or triple-lumen catheter into a large central vein, typically the internal jugular or subclavian vein, under real-time ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance.

Procedure
Soris evaluates the patient's vascular anatomy with ultrasound to identify the optimal insertion site. Prior catheter history and vessel patency are reviewed.
The skin is numbed with local anesthesia. Using ultrasound guidance, your physician inserts the catheter through a small needle puncture into a large vein. X-ray imaging is used to confirm that the catheter is in the correct position. The procedure typically takes 30 to 45 minutes.
Patients can use the catheter for dialysis or medication delivery the same day. Soris provides catheter care instructions and schedules follow-up to assess the site.
