Procedure
No special preparation is needed. Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows access to your neck, abdomen, and ankles.
A vascular sonographer performs three ultrasound studies at our outpatient centers. The entire screening takes approximately 30 minutes.
Carotid Duplex Ultrasound measures blood flow through the carotid arteries in your neck, checking for plaque buildup that can lead to stroke.
Abdominal Aortic Ultrasound measures the diameter of your abdominal aorta, detecting aneurysms before they reach a dangerous size.
Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) compares blood pressure in your ankles to your arms, identifying peripheral artery disease that restricts blood flow to your legs.
