Meet the Team at Soris Pain & Vascular Institute

Dr. Okuno is the pioneer of genicular artery embolization for knee osteoarthritis and the Chief Director of the Okuno Clinic in Tokyo. His published research established the safety and efficacy of embolizing abnormal neovascularity in arthritic joints, creating the clinical category MSK embolization occupies today.

At CIRSE 2023 in Copenhagen he received the Award of Excellence and Innovation in Interventional Radiology. As Founding Physician, he sets the technical standard for embolization across every Soris center.

Dr. Ahmed is a recognized authority in MSK embolization and procedural innovation. He was selected for the Society of Interventional Radiology's Leadership and Development Academy and received the 2020 Gary Becker Young Investigator Award.

He serves as Deputy Editor for the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, and as Associate Editor for the Arab Journal of Interventional Radiology and CVIR Endovascular. He is also a Professor of Radiology at the University of Utah. His interests include musculoskeletal interventions, embolization, venous thromboembolism, health economics, and interventional oncology.

As Chief Medical Officer, he sets the treatment planning standards our clinics follow.

Dr. Patel completed his residency in diagnostic and interventional radiology at the University of Chicago, followed by fellowship training at Northwestern University. He has published extensively on vascular and interventional procedures and brings a multidisciplinary background in health economics and healthcare marketing.

As founding physician advisor to Soris Pain & Vascular Institute, he contributes to clinical strategy and the development of our embolization programs, focused on expanding access to effective, image-guided alternatives to traditional surgery.

Dr. Tanquilut is a board-certified vascular and endovascular surgeon who has cared for patients across Chicago's south and southwest suburbs since 2005. He earned his medical degree at Midwestern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his surgical residency at St. Barnabas in New York City, and a vascular and endovascular fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.

Fluent in English and Spanish, he is affiliated with Advocate South Suburban Hospital and Franciscan Health Olympia Fields, and sees patients at the Tinley Park office.

Dr. Yao is a vascular and endovascular surgeon skilled in both open surgical and minimally invasive techniques, with a focus on limb salvage, dialysis access, and aortic disease. She earned her medical degree at the University of Minnesota, completed a general surgery residency at Tufts Medical Center, and a vascular and endovascular surgery fellowship at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School.

Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, she sees patients at the Tinley Park office.

Dr. Coffey is an experienced vascular surgeon and osteopathic physician who takes a holistic approach to care, pairing interventional procedures with guidance on exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle. He earned his medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a vascular and endovascular fellowship at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey.

Board certified in general surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, he sees patients at the Tinley Park office.

Noreen Rizvi is a family nurse practitioner who works alongside our physicians on patient evaluations, pre- and post-procedure care, and patient education at the Tinley Park office.

Anita Farley is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who supports our physicians with pre-procedure assessments, post-procedure follow-up care, and patient education at the Tinley Park office. She coordinates with referring physicians and dialysis centers to ensure continuity of care.
